Colors by Valerie June (Genre: Singer-Songwriter, Americana, Folk)

Valerie June is a terrific Memphis based singer-songwriter. Colors is from her newly released second album The Moon and Stars: Prescriptions for Dreamers (2021).

Come And Go With Me by Lightin’ Hopkins (Genre: Country-Blues, Blues)

The great country blues artist Lightin’ Hopkins performing live! Come And Go With Me is from his Smithsonian-Folkways album Lightin’ Hopkins (1959).

Five Feet High And Rising by Johnny Cash (Genre: Country)

The great Johnny Cash, with a terrific song; from his album Songs Of Our Soil (1960).

Gonna Write Me A Letter by Rhiannon Giddens (Genre: Americana, Folk)

Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Rhiannon Giddens first came to the attention of music fans as a member of the traditional folk group Carolina Chocolate Drops. She launched a solo career in 2009; Gonna Write Me A Letter is from her fourth solo album There Is No Other (2019).

Midnight Cruiser by Steely Dan (Genre: Pop-Rock, Jazz)

Walter Becker, who played bass, and Donald Fagen who played keyboards and sang, produced some fantastic upbeat, jazzy-pop-rock music as the co-leaders of the group Steely Dan; including the song Midnight Cruiser, which is from the group’s debut album Can’t Buy A Thrill (1972).

Pride And Joy by Marvin Gaye (R&B, Soul, Pop)

Pride And Joy is an upbeat song from the great singer; from his second album That Stubborn Kinda Fellow (1963).

Ruby, My Dear by Thelonious Monk (Genre: Jazz)

The great composer, pianist and band leader with one of his classic songs; from his album Genius of Modern Music, Vol. 1 (1952).

Take The ‘A’ Train by Duke Ellington (Genre: Jazz)

The classic Duke Ellington with a classic song, taken from his album Ellington Uptown (1953).

Walk Away by James Gang

The James Gang was a seventies power rock band from Ohio, the groups’ premier line-up included founder Jim Fox on drums, Joel Peters on bass and future Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh on guitar and vocals; Walk Away was their biggest hit and is from their album Thirds (1971).

Zoom In And Zoom Out by Ringo Starr (Genre: Rock, Pop)

Zoom In And Zoom Out is from Zoom In (2021), the new album by former Beatle Ringo Starr.
