Tech Events of the Week, The Book Sale is Coming, Did You Know: The Library Has A Scanner? & New Items Are Available in the Digital Catalog

Hi everyone, the library is offering one lone tech program this week – but it is a great one! It is our Wednesday One Hour Tech Workshop on how to use a digital camera!

And of course, we always offer free one-on-one instruction for patrons so if you just purchased a new PC, Mac, e-reader, tablet, smartphone or other device and have questions about how to use it – call us! Description: Learn how to transfer photos from your digital camera to a PC. Also, learn to do basic editing and saving of photos. Sign up is required by calling (607)936-3713 ext. 502.

The Book Sale is Coming! This has nothing whatsoever to do with tech! Instead it is one of those off-subject items I sometimes like to throw in for variety! So all ye book lovers note that the Friends of the Southeast Steuben County Library will be hosting their fall book sale starting next Saturday, October 7, 2012!

Did You Know: The Library Has A Scanner? If you didn’t know the library has a scanner – we do! You can come in and scan your documents, photos or slides and save them to a flash drive or email them. If you have just one or two photos or documents to scan feel free to just drop in. If you have a whole tray full of slides or a scrapbook full of photos you’d like to scan call us and make an appointment to use the scanner! And if you have any questions about scanner usage please ask us! Call us at 607-936-3713 ext. 502.

New Items Are Available in the Digital Catalog: the library has placed its digital content order for October and our newly ordered e-books, downloadable videos and downloadable music titles are now available in the Digital Catalog.

You can download the formats in the Digital Catalog to a variety of devices including a PC if you’d just like to try one or two of them out! You can download an e-book to your PC and see what you think of reading an e-book before you purchase an e-reader!
